My Samsung Galaxy Y Custom Home Screen

This is what my home screen currently looks like. Plain and simple, not much apps running.

Using the following:

• Launcher 7 for Windows Phone-style home screen tiles
• Custom WP7 Tiles by Mortem Tuam 
• Launcher 7 icons HDPI and MDPI by ZduneX25

Managing Your Android Phone Using AirDroid

AirDroid is a fast, free app that lets you wirelessly manage & control your Android device from a web browser Over-The-Air. It can also send messages, browse / download / upload files, preview photos, import or export ringtones, music and some other stuff. The main reason i'm using this app is to transfer file from my phone to my laptop and vice versa. Since bluetooth file transfer under Ubuntu 10.11 is broken this is the next best thing.

Root Samsung Galaxy Y (GT-S5360)

Just rooted my Samsung Galaxy Y using this instruction from XDA-Developer. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317540&page=2

copy update.zip file to your sdcard's root directory then boot into recovery mode (hold power, volume up, home button together) then chooses apply update.zip from sdcard

Reboot your phone, voila... its rooted now
